Children joined by elders and families at Wunanbiri
ALEXANDRIA: This year at Wunanbiri Preschool, with the NAIDOC theme “Because of her, we can”, we celebrated all the wonderful and important women in our children’s lives.

Aunty Esther Cutmore, who is a Wiradjuri Elder, taught us to count to 10 and to name different body parts and Australian animals in the Wiradjuri language.
Mi-Kaisha Masella and Aunty Wendy Notley joined the children in performing for our gathered families.
Brooke Joy from the Boandik people read Where is the Green Sheep? in the Bunganditj language.
Bruce Shillingsworth shared his knowledge of playing the yidaki (didgeridoo).
We finished off the week with a visit from our wonderful Elders from Wyanga Aboriginal Aged Care.
Wunanbiri Preschool has priority places (with low fees) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The preschool is located at the Alexandria Park Community School site.
